GALA  2010
marlene and trista

Marlene Grass accepts a donation from Owen Lee, who raised funds for the Centre as part of a school project, on behalf of his younger brother Kaleb. WELL DONE OWEN!

Thanks to all who helped male this year’s 10,000 Wishes Gala surpass previous years…without the generosity of our many sponsors, attendees and volunteers, this would not have been possible. This year’s Moroccan market theme focused on 10,000 Wishes and the wishes of kids, their families and adults who want to live happy, healthy lives in spite of Type 1 Diabetes. Belly Dancers entertained the guests during cocktails – as did Marlene’s amazing camel – which provided a fitting prelude to the Moroccan-themed dinner. Guests enjoyed music and dancing from Jukebox Reloaded, and enjoyed hearing the stories of our youngest fundraisers, including Trista Bruce who raised the highest amount at Walkathon 2009; and Owen Lee, our youngest independent fundraiser. Terry Johnson of CKDO was gracious in his introduction of our MC for the evening: Ken Shaw, Host of CTCV News at 6:00 pm.

Marlene and Trista Bruce

Marlene Grass congratulates Trista Bruce, who raised over $3,600 at Walkathon 2009, and won tickets to the Gala. CONGRATULATIONS, TRISTA!
