Training Goals

Get Pumped is a great sporting event. And like any sporting event, preparation and training is important to avoid injury and maximize on fun! Get Pumped 2008 is offering several opportunities to assist you in setting training goals through events scheduled in the months leading up to the August weekend.

Visit the Get Pumped Message Board and register to meet other riders, training tips, and for updates.

Meet us on Sunday June 15 th, 2008 at the Trailhead in Durham Forest. This is the kick off event for the Get Pumped 2008 season! Volunteer riders will lead you through a mountain biking skills session and give you tips for organizing a training schedule. After a group ride enjoy a BBQ!

  • 9am - Experienced riders meet at the Trailhead to ride
  • 10:30am - Novice and Beginner riders meet at the Trailhead

Mountain Biking Clinic

  • 11am - all riders enjoy a group ride
  • Noon - BBQ lunch

Directions

To reach the Trailhead, follow Route 401 to Brock Road in Pickering. Proceed north on Brock Road to Durham Road 21 at Coppin's Corners. Head west on Durham Road 21 for 5 km to Sideline #4. Go south on Sideline #4 for 1 km and the trailhead parking is on the left.

training nights

These nights are for everyone! Riding with others allows you to meet new people, keeps you motivated and teaches you new skills. It is also good exercise! Please meet at the trailhead (directions above) at 6:15pm on Tuesday evenings, starting July 1, 2008.

Practice ride

On Sunday, August 17, 2008 a group will be heading up to Albion Hills to pre-ride the course. This is an excellent opportunity to see the challenges and fun that awaits you! All interested riders should meet at MotorCity Saturn (Whitby) at 8:30 AM. Directions to Albion Hills are available on the official Hot August Nights website www.chicoracing.com.
